Creating a Safe and Supportive Environment
Reading FC Community Trust is committed to providing a safe, welcoming and supportive environment for everyone who takes part in our programmes.
We work with children, young people and adults across education, sport, mentoring and community activities. Safeguarding is therefore a responsibility shared across the Trust and considered throughout the way our programmes are managed and delivered.
Staff and volunteers are expected to recognise concerns, respond appropriately and follow the Trust’s safeguarding procedures.
Relevant members of the RAP SEND Hub team receive training appropriate to their roles, including autism awareness, Team Teach and trauma-informed practice.
If you are worried about someone taking part in a Community Trust programme, it is important that you share your concern. You do not need to be certain that harm has occurred before reporting something you have seen, heard or been told.
How to Report a Concern
You can report a concern if you are worried about the safety or wellbeing of a child, young person or adult at risk.
When contacting the Trust, provide as much information as you can, including:
- The name of the person you are concerned about
- What you have seen, heard or been told
- When and where it happened
- The programme or activity involved
- Your contact details, where appropriate

Sensitive safeguarding information should be submitted through the dedicated safeguarding route rather than the general contact form.
